Sharon E. Brown was born in The Bahamas in 1953. She graduated Cum Laude from Boston University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree and obtained her MBA from the University of Miami in 1979.  She entered the Banking industry in 1975 as a Research Assistant at the Central Bank of The Bahamas, and was appointed the Exchange Control Manager in 1980.

She joined Barclays Bank Plc in 1987, and became the Regional Corporate Director & Senior Bahamas Executive in 2001. She was appointed the Managing Director of the Bahamas & Turks & Caicos Islands branches at FirstCaribbean International Bank (Bahamas) Ltd in 2002. She was appointed a Non-Executive Director of The Private Trust Corporation Limited in September 2014.  She currently serves as a Director of Capital Life Insurance Company Bahamas and J.S. Johnson & Company Limited.
